Hi, my name is Scott Gilbert, I am the owner and operator of Sap Mappers.
I was born, raised and educated in Vermont. Though my degree from the University of Vermont is in Mathematics, I was trained in geographic information systems and digital mapping while minoring in geospatial technologies. Following graduation I applied these skills to several university and state run projects. My career then veered away from mapping and the outdoors for some time. In 2012, after escaping the confines of a cubicle I found myself learning the trade and tradition of sugarmaking at Thunder Basin Maple Works (now Runamok Maple) in Cambridge, VT.
For the next 5 years I was involved in all aspects of sugarmaking on a large scale. This included providing mapping services for existing sugarmakers as well as for several large scale woods installations. In 2018 I moved to Middlebury, VT and started Sap Mappers.
